Safari Pete & Freinds

Kensington Primary School had some very special visitors on Tuesday, 14th November!

As part of our Science studies, KS1 had special animal workshops where they met: a snake, meerkats, a tree frog, crocodile and lizard. Safari Pete taught us all about what type of animals they are, where they have came from and what their diet is like: most of the animals are carnivores and therefore predators, which hunt for their food.

Don't worry, KS2 and EYFS didn't miss out: they got to take part in a special assembly where they met some of the animals and even got to watch a crocodile chomp on a dead baby chick for its dinner!

Help your child to continue learning from this experience at home by asking them about the 5 different groups of animals; what their habitats are like; and what type of diet they have.  Or you could help your child to conduct some more scientific research about animals by visiting the local library.
