Kensington Primary School has won TWO Pearson Awards - the 'Oscars' of education.

The school are Silver Award Winners for Primary School of the Year AND their SENDCo, Mrs Harris, for Excellence in Special Educational Needs, and are now in the running to win one of 14 Gold Awards.

The Pearson Awards recognise excellence in education and the school has been selected from thousands of nominations.

Education Secretary Gavin Williamson said: “My warmest congratulations go to all this year’s silver award winners. They should be proud to receive this recognition of their commitment to the profession, and the outstanding education and guidance they provide for their students. 

"Teachers and school staff up and down the country consistently go above and beyond for their students, and this is especially true over the past few months. It is down to their hard work that schools have been able to open their gates to all pupils again for the start of the new term, and I cannot say thank you enough for everything they have done.”

Mayor Fiaz said: "Well done Kensington Primary School, I am so proud that you are all being recognised nationally! It’s a great reflection of the school to be recognised in this way and a reflection of how wonderful the school community of staff, pupils and parents are in showing ambition!"

Mr Levinson, Head Teacher, said: "The Awards are a testament to the incredible community we have at this school and they are a recognition of everyone who is involved - children, staff, The Tapscott Learning Trust, parents, governors, and all of our other partners. I could not be more proud."
