Active Girls Festival

Thirty girls from Kensington had the exciting opportunity to participate in the 'Girls Active Festival' at UEL SportsDock. This vibrant event brought together young girls from across schools to celebrate sports and showcase their talents. The day featured an inspiring talk by professional basketball player El Bishop, where the girls learnt about her journey to becoming a pro and had the chance to ask questions about her experiences. The girls also took part in a thrilling boxing taster session, stepping out of their comfort zones to try something new and discovering hidden talents along the way.

The energy reached a peak during a live women’s basketball match between East London and South Hampton, where the girls cheered passionately as East London dominated the game. Full of laughter, growth, and excitement, the festival highlighted the power of sports to inspire confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The day was a testament to the importance of providing girls with inclusive sporting opportunities that encourage them to push their boundaries and believe in their potential.
