Intervention Group

Maths

This half term, all the different intervention rooms are working on place value fundamentals, whether ordering numbers or matching quantity to numeral. All the children are at different stages, so they've been doing different activities to support them. Here are some examples of how they're doing: Mahira did a dot-to-dot up to 20, able to connect numbers even when they aren't in a straight line, and knowing which number comes next. Khadijah is using number of objects to match to the numerals on the number line. Adel is doing addition using a number line, and has made great progress in his 1:1 correspondence to do so, while Ashdeep is linking cubes to the numerals up to 5. I'm really happy with the engagement and progress these children are making already.
