Learning in Year 2

Year 2 have had a busy and exciting week in Science, exploring electrical circuits and learning about mains- and battery-powered sources. The children investigated a range of components, discussing their purpose and how they work together, before successfully creating their own working circuits independently. They showed excellent problem-solving skills, perseverance, and teamwork throughout the activity.

In addition, the children identified and sorted everyday objects that use mains power, battery power, or a combination of both, making thoughtful links to real-life situations. They used scientific vocabulary confidently and asked insightful questions, demonstrating a growing understanding of how electricity is used safely in our everyday lives.
