Technology Newsletter

Dear Parents and Carers,
Our students have thoroughly enjoyed exploring our technology units this term, with a fantastic focus across the school on creative media and programming. Across all year groups, children are developing brilliant digital skills and showing great enthusiasm for their computer lessons.
In the lower school, our youngest learners in year 1 are exploring online painting applications. They are becoming familiar with various tool icons and practicing their hand-eye coordination using free-hand digital tools. Meanwhile, year 3 students are diving into scratch programming to understand the movement of sprites, which they will build upon to create their very own interactive maze games.
In the upper school, year 6 students have been introduced to the world of spreadsheets. They are learning how data is organized and the benefits of formatting as they look forward to creating their own spreadsheet projects over the coming weeks. If you would like to know more specifically about the units taught across the curriculum, please refer to the teachcomputing website at teachcomputing.org.
