Summer Physical Health

This summer term, pupils have been focusing on developing their fundamental ball skills through a variety of fun, engaging, and challenging activities. Throughout their PH lessons, children have had opportunities to practise and improve key skills such as throwing, catching, rolling, bouncing, dribbling, striking, and kicking. These activities have helped to develop their hand-eye coordination, balance, agility, and overall confidence when handling different types of equipment.
Children have participated in a range of individual, paired, and team-based challenges designed to improve accuracy, control, movement, and spatial awareness. They have learnt how to apply these skills in game situations, making decisions about when and how to pass, move, and work effectively with others. As their confidence has grown, many pupils have shown increased independence and resilience when faced with new challenges.
Alongside developing physical skills, lessons have also focused on important values such as teamwork, communication, respect, and sportsmanship. Pupils have demonstrated excellent cooperation when working with partners and teams, encouraging one another and celebrating each other's achievements. It has been wonderful to see children showing determination, perseverance, and a positive attitude towards learning new skills.
The progress made across all year groups has been fantastic. Pupils have enjoyed taking part in a wide range of activities and have embraced opportunities to challenge themselves and improve their personal bests. Their enthusiasm and effort have been evident in every lesson, and they should be proud of what they have achieved this term.
We look forward to continuing to build on these skills through future PH lessons, National Sports Week, Intra-Sports Week activities, and the long-awaited Sports Day. Bring it on!
