Year 4's Egg-cellent Tooth Decay Predictions

Our Year 4 scientists have kicked off an exciting investigation into tooth decay using eggs as a substitute for teeth! Since eggshells are similar to tooth enamel, they’re perfect for this experiment.

As part of developing our enquiry skills, we carefully planned our investigation, made thoughtful predictions, and recorded our observations. We placed eggs in different liquids — cola, milk, orange juice, and vinegar — and discussed what changes we might see. Some students predicted that the cola would stain the eggs, while others thought the vinegar might dissolve the shell completely!

Over the coming weeks, we'll continue to observe the eggs closely to see if our predictions were correct. Stay tuned for our fascinating findings!
