Learning in Year 4

This week Y4B had a lot of fun learning all about sound in science. We have learned about what sound is and how it travels, and we have even conducted some experiments to help us understand our learning. The children used water bottles that were filled to different levels and observed the vibrations that happened after striking the bottle. We also experimented with different levels of water in the bottles and the children were having great fun making different sounds due to the amount of air particles.

Following on with the sound theme, during our Culture Sound lessons this week the children learned about the history of soul music and listened to some classic soul songs. They then made up their own soul song based on Ray Charles' 'Hit the Road Jack'. Ask your children to sing their version to you this weekend and maybe come up with some of your own lyrics.
