Maths in Year 6

I am incredibly proud of our children for their fantastic Year 6 SATs results this year. These outcomes are a true testament to their hard work and to our curriculum at Kensington, where we focus on the fundamentals of mathematics to ensure every child builds strong foundations for the future.

As we head into the summer holidays, I encourage all our pupils to keep practicing their times tables and revisiting the key concepts they have learned in recent weeks. This will help support their learning and confidence when they return to school in September.

It has been an absolute privilege to serve as Maths Lead for the past four years at Kensington. In this time, I have seen our children grow in confidence, develop a genuine enjoyment of maths, and achieve our best results in a considerable amount of time. However, these SATs results are just a small snapshot of what our children are truly capable of. I am confident they are being equipped with the skills to become fluent, day-to-day, real-life mathematicians.

Finally, I would like to wish Miss Scott all the very best as she takes on the role of our new Maths Lead. I know she will continue to build on this success and inspire our children to love and excel in maths.
