Kensington Primary School

Welcome to Year 6

We are so pleased to welcome our Year 6 children back for what promises to be an exciting and memorable final year at primary school. It has been a fantastic first full week, and everyone has settled into their new classes brilliantly, showing great enthusiasm and maturity.

This week, the children have been diving into some fascinating learning. In English, they have been exploring the context of Windrush Child, engaging in thoughtful discussions and beginning to develop a deeper understanding of this important historical moment. In maths, we have been investigating prime numbers as well as exploring square and cubed numbers, with some impressive mathematical thinking already on display. Our science lessons have sparked curiosity as we have started our topic on Electricity by building simple circuits.

There is already so much to look forward to. Next week, on Tuesday 16th September, we will be heading off on our educational visit to the Museum of London Docklands – a brilliant opportunity to enrich our learning further. We are also looking forward to sharing more about the year ahead with you during our ‘Meet the Teacher’ session on Thursday 18th September.

We cannot wait to make this year a memorable one for all our Year 6 children, filled with learning, growth and exciting experiences.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you soon.
