Learning in Year 3
This week Y3BS have developed their skipping techniques and stamina in Physical Health. They learned how to hold the rope, time their jumps, so they went over the rope and some even learned how to hop over the rope.
In maths , these super maths explorers have been looking at number lines and scales . It was great to see how well they used their knowledge of the x2, x5, x10, x20 and x100 tables to and estimating missing numbers. Here you can see them working with a partner to make different scales and work out what numbers were missing. If you have time, please help your child learn these, and the other times tables up to 10 x 12.Meanwhile, in Emotional Health they've been exploring how our eating is affected by our feelings. We role-played different emotions, and then talked about food we eat when we feel happy, and food we eat when angry or upset.
They have really enjoyed imagining themselves as Paddington Bear this week, and the journey he took from "deepest, darkest Peru" to Paddington Station. Then, they wrote funny, detailed postcards to the Paddington Bear's Aunt, to tell her all about it. I'm sure you'll enjoy reading these when you get to see their books.
