Year 4 Newsletter – Shrek World Visit

Year 4 had a truly magical experience last week as part of our English curriculum. To bring our core text to life of Beauty and the Beast, we visited Shrek’s Adventure World, where the children stepped into the world of storytelling, imagination and adventure.

The day included an exciting storytelling workshop, where pupils explored how stories are built, shared ideas about heroes and villains, and thought about what makes a tale memorable. This linked beautifully with our English learning, helping the children develop skills for planning and writing their own stories.

The visit wasn’t just educational – it was also lots of fun! From interactive adventures to meeting favourite characters, the children were fully engaged and inspired throughout the day.

To round off our trip, we enjoyed a class picnic on the Embankment, with the River Thames as our backdrop. This gave everyone a chance to relax, share their favourite moments, and reflect on what they had learned.

The trip was a wonderful balance of education and enjoyment – deepening pupils’ understanding of storytelling while creating special memories together. We are so proud of how Year 4 represented the school, and we can’t wait to see the exciting writing this trip will inspire.
