Playful with OPAL!

Outdoor play and learning (OPaL) has well and truly kicked off the year at Kensington Primary School with new playground equipment, recycled and donated materials and imaginative adventures to aid the children's play to aid their social skills, communication skills and general learning all year round.
So far, children have been encouraged to climb trees, roll tyres, enjoy the mud kitchen, adventure on wheeled vehicles, dress up and build with blocks amongst a list of things that they can do in their free time.
As part of the OPAL scheme, we have OPAL assemblies online to introduce any new things to the playground and remind children to play in a safe and kind way, as we wish for the playground to be 'their' playground with play led by them.
We're always open to donations, such as toy vehicles, pots and pans, old musical instruments, duplo, lego and more. Simply pop it into the yellow OPAL box by the school gate, and we'll take it from there. We'll have more updates as the scheme progresses.
OPAL and out.
