Welcome Back – Autumn 2 Newsletter

Kensington Primary School
Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope you all had a restful and enjoyable half-term break with your families. It’s been wonderful to welcome the children back this week, full of energy, smiles and enthusiasm for learning.
This half-term promises to be a busy and exciting one at Kensington Primary School, with lots of opportunities for our children to learn, grow, and shine.
Learning Focus This Half-Term
Across the school, children will be continuing to build on their learning from the first half of the term. Teachers have planned a range of engaging lessons and activities, with a strong focus on:
-
Reading: Developing a love of reading and deepening comprehension across all year groups.
-
Writing: Strengthening writing skills through exciting topics and purposeful opportunities to write for real audiences.
-
Maths: Building fluency, reasoning and problem-solving skills, with continued emphasis on number knowledge and times tables.
-
Science and the Wider Curriculum: Exploring new topics through hands-on investigation and cross-curricular learning experiences.
We are particularly focusing this half-term on adaptive teaching, ensuring every child receives the right level of challenge and support to help them succeed.
Behaviour and Wellbeing
We continue to be proud of our children’s excellent behaviour and positive attitudes to learning. Our focus on kindness, respect and responsibility remains central to school life. Please continue to talk to your children about our school values and how they can show them both in school and at home.
If your child is finding any aspect of school life difficult, please don’t hesitate to speak to their class teacher or a member of staff, we are here to support every child.
