Learning in Year 3

Year 3 have had a wonderful start to the half-term, diving into lots of exciting learning across the curriculum. In Maths, we are developing confidence with addition and subtraction, using strategies such as number lines, partitioning and exchanging to solve increasingly challenging problems. In English, we are enjoying the hilarious Diary of a Killer Cat and exploring character's voice, humour and diary-style writing. In Science, we are learning all about healthy foods and how a balanced diet helps us grow, stay active and feel our best. In Culture: The World , we are travelling back in time to learn about the Great Plague, discovering how people lived in 1665 and how life changed during this dramatic period. In Culture: Beliefs we are exploring Judaism by learning about important traditions, symbols and celebrations. This half term we are also becoming animators in Technology, experimenting with how pictures can be sequenced to create movement—an exciting blend of culture, beliefs and creativity that the children are absolutely engaged with.
