We’ve had a wonderful start to the second half of the autumn term in Year 6, and the children have already impressed us with their hard work, enthusiasm, and positive attitude across all subjects.

In English, the class has been creating detailed scene-setting descriptions, confidently using the ambitious vocabulary introduced during our communication sessions. It has been lovely to see them experimenting with new languages and expressing their ideas with real creativity.

In Maths, the children have thrown themselves into our fractions unit. They’ve shown excellent focus when tackling more challenging tasks and have worked well together to deepen their understanding.

Science has also been very productive. After completing their learning on plants, the children are now exploring the importance of a balanced diet. They have been asking thoughtful questions and showing great interest in how our food choices affect our health.

In Technology, Year 6 have been enjoying their introduction to web design. They’ve been analysing what makes a website effective and are looking forward to applying their ideas when they begin creating their own sites.

Alongside this, the children have been taking part in emotional health lessons, where they have been learning about mental wellbeing, resilience, and self-awareness. In gymnastics, they are working towards performing a controlled handstand while continuing to develop their balance and overall body control.

It’s been a fantastic start to this half-term, and we are extremely proud of the children’s effort and enthusiasm. We’re excited to see all they will continue to achieve as the term goes on.
