School Council Update

Our School Councillors have recently been involved in helping to make several important decisions across the school through a democratic process.

Working alongside the Tapscott Learning Trust and other schools within the Trust, councillors conducted a vote in their classes to help select favourites from a variety of proposed attendance champion characters, which will be rolled out soon. Once the choices were narrowed down to two characters, councillors returned to their classes to gather ideas for suitable names. These suggestions were then put forward for a Trust vote amongst the head councillors for each of the Trust schools over an online meeting.

The councillors have also been collecting ideas for new school ‘house’ names. They will soon return to their classes to gather the final votes that will help decide the names for each house.

Earlier this week, the councillors also met with Trevor from Juniper, our school’s catering provider. During the meeting, they shared their thoughts and opinions about the current school lunch provision. The councillors will now speak with their classes to gather further feedback and suggestions for improvements, which they will present to the school’s senior leadership team and Juniper.
