Physical Health

This term, the children at Kensington have been actively developing their physical health and wellbeing through a range of engaging activities. During PE lessons, pupils have focused on improving coordination, balance, strength, and teamwork through both gymnastics and ball skills activities.
Year 1 and Year 3 pupils have been developing their ball skills, practising throwing, catching, rolling, kicking, and aiming through fun and active games. These activities have improved hand–eye and foot–eye coordination, control, and teamwork, while also helping children build confidence in following instructions and working with others. Meanwhile, Year 2, 4, 5, and 6 pupils have been focusing on gymnastics, exploring different ways of moving, balancing, and travelling with control and confidence. They have practised a variety of shapes, balances, and simple sequences, learning to move safely while increasing flexibility and body control.
In addition, Year 5 and Year 6 pupils have been working on running to build stamina and prepare for the London Mini Marathon in April. They have shown determination in completing the two-mile distance and improving their endurance week by week.
It has been wonderful to see the children demonstrating enthusiasm, perseverance, and pride in their achievements. We are very proud of the effort they have put into staying active and developing their physical skills this term.
