Remembrance Service
On the 9th November, 20 pupils from Year 6 attended a Newham schools remembrance ceremony at Central Park War Memorial.
During the service, the pupils listened to performances of poetry commemorating the first world war, reflected on the conflicts that have occurred in the last century and joined in with prayers for those who were killed and their families. Two Year 6 children laid a poppy wreath on the steps of the memorial with message of remembrance on behalf of the school.
Remembrance Day commemorates all of those who have died in conflicts, particularly in the last 100 years. Our pupils’ attendance and the message on behalf of the school shows their commitment to peace and their hopes for a brighter future free from conflict.
