Learning in Year 3

Year 3 has made a great start to this half-term, learning reading skills with a new book 'Katie in London'. This builds on last term's knowledge of London landmarks and uses their background knowledge from our boat trip. We have started learning mental maths methods for addition and subtraction, using number lines and bar models to help visualise the problem.

This half-term, we will create a musical instrument using Scratch, which the children can also use at home to develop their programming skills.

In science, we are learning about sleep and how it is essential for healthy bodies and healthy minds. Ask your child to teach you about how to improve your sleep and the importance of a bedtime routine.
