Summer Fair 2017
Kensington's Summer Fair 2017 - A celebration of modern British multi-culturalism
Kensington's Summer Fair on Saturday 22nd July 2017 was a truly unique event.
Despite the unseasonal weather, a great time was had by all. It was the most magnificent coming together of our unique school community. There was bhangra dancing – danced by Black African children from Portugal, Gypsy Roma children from Slovakia, Asian and Black Caribbean children from Britain, Romanian children, and so many more; a world famous samba band; traditional Latvian dancing; the Royal British Legion Riders Branch on their motorbikes; traditional Indian dancing; henna tattoos, and the Army Cadets, all alongside some traditional Summer Fair fare of candy floss, sponge the teacher, and test your strength. Nowhere else would you see such an eclectic mix of people and cultures. It truly represented so much of what we stand for as a school.
A big thank you to everyone who braved the showers (and downpours) to come and join in the fun and support the school. All profits made will be donated to our charity - the Refugee and Migrant Project (RAMP).
