Kensington Primary School

Clubs

We offer a range of after school clubs to support the academic, creative and physical development of our children. Academic clubs consist of ‘boosters’ in maths, reading, writing and phonics across the school.  These allow children to practise skills which they may need to develop within daily lessons. These clubs have a positive impact on attainment and progress of children across the school.

Specific clubs are in place (e.g. choir, creative arts) to develop pupils soft skills such as communication & language, confidence, resilience, independence and emotional intelligence.

A number of sports clubs provide opportunities for the children to further develop their fine motor, gross motor and sporting skills, and sportsmanship.

The majority of our clubs are suggested by the pupils and are open to all pupils on a first come, first served basis. Currently at Kensington EVERY child from Year 1 to Year 6 has the opportunity to attend clubs free of charge. Reception children will be able to join clubs from Spring term as Autumn term is their settling in period.

At the beginning of each term every child can choose up to 4 clubs (stating their preference 1-4) they would like to attend (letter sent home). Each child then gets allocated up to 3 clubs of their choice depending on the spaces available as some clubs are more popular than others. A letter is sent home to confirm allocations.

Wraparound Care

We also provide a daily breakfast club, currently at a cost of £1 per day. Children are able to attend daily from 7.30am, and are provided with a variety of healthy breakfast options as well as indoor and outdoor activities. A menu of items with allergy information is available below. The latest admission to the Breakfast Club is 8.20am.

We also offer 6 o'clock club between 3.15-6pm for children from Reception to Year 6, currently at a cost of £15 per day. Children do various activities and are provided food and snacks. A menu of items with allergy information is available below. For more information please contact the school office.
