General

EYFS: Nursery

Phonics - Practise saying and forming m a s d t sounds

Reading - Read story books; answer questions about story/pictures. Talk about how are you feeling today? Why? Answer in full sentences.

Handwriting and Fine Motor Skills/Physical Development - cutting along curved and straight lines; small and large shapes. Writing own name. 

Letters and Sounds, English Games for 5-7 Years

Maths

  • Counting 10 objects
  • Recognising 1-10
  • Naming 2D shapes

Busy Things - Miner Birds, Number Run Monkey

Emotional Health

  • Draw a colour monster to reflect feelings daily
  • Talk to an adult about something that you are good at
  • Talk to an adult about something you are scared off
  • Try different ways to calm down with your adult

Health Science

  • Record daily meals - reflect healthy or not
  • Help a grown up create a healthy meal
  • Care for an indoor plant
  • Draw and label an indoor plant
  • Write instructions/ create a poster for how and why it is important to clean your teeth
  • Try a new fruit/vegetable
  • Draw farm animals
  • Show your adult how to make a boat for Max and float it in water
  • Make a house and create curtains to stop the light coming inside it

Physical Health

  • Create an activity log- What have you done? How did you feel after exercise?
  • Practice balancing in different combinations of 4, 3 and 2 points, focusing on tension with the muscles and extension of limbs
  • Practice tuck, straddle and pike balance
  • Practice moving like a camel, caterpillar and crab
  • Practice rocking in a tuck position
  • Have a race in the park

Topic

  • Play a board game
  • Design a new toy

Outdoor Learning

  • Visit a park – draw what you can see
  • Go on an animal hunt
  • Draw a local landmark
  • Go on a journey on your bike or scooter

Y2

English

  • Read at least one book a day and write a book review
  • Write a diary daily- How do you feel? What have you done? What would you like to do next?
  • Learn and practice spellings from the list and practise writing sentences with them.
  • Can you create a film review? What did you watch?

Questions when reading and writing book review:

  • Who is the main character?
  • How does the character feel and why?
  • What do you think happens next?
  • What happens at the beginning/middle/end?

Emotional Health

  • Write an emotional journal - daily
  • Talk to an adult about something that you like and something that you dislike explaining why
  • How does today’s weather make you feel?
  • What do you enjoy doing in this weather?

Health Science

  • Can you write a list of main powered and battery powered electric items around the home?
  • Create a poster on how to keep clean and have good hygiene.
  • What healthy snacks have you eaten today? What unhealthy snacks have you eaten today?
  • Help a grown up create a healthy meal
  • Create a poster explaining the importance of cleaning your teeth
  • Create/draw an habitat for an animal of your choice
  • Write an explanation of the importance of keeping safe with electricity
  • Can you make a list of items that are safe and unsafe to use for electricity. Can you draw and label a diagram of circuits?

Physical Health

  • Create an activity log- What have you done? How did you feel after exercise? How long were you active?
  • Practice jumping and landing on two feet
  • Practice a front and back support
  • Have a race in the park
  • Play a ball game.
  • Can you do a tuck/star/half and full turn jump.
  • Can you practise sitting in tuck, pike and straddle.
  • Practise rocking in these sitting positions.

Topic

  • Observational drawing of a plant
  • Draw and paint a self-portrait.
  • Choose a famous person and create a fact file - who are they? Where are they from? Why are they famous? What do you like about them? What is their job?
  • What facts do you remember about the Great Fire of London? Can you create a fact file for people who would want to learn about it?

Outdoor Learning

  • Visit a park
  • Go on an animal hunt

  • Play on the playground equipment in the park
